Desco Statshield smocks are specially designed to provide antistatic protection, minimize static charge build-up, and form a Faraday Cage around the wearer's torso and arms, effectively shielding ESD sensitive items from the electrostatic fields produced by clothing. Static control garments serve to reduce the impact of electrostatic fields that may be present on the operator's attire.

These Statshield Smocks meet the criteria for a Ground able Static Control Garment System as stipulated by ANSI/ESD S20.20 regulations, ensuring that the resistance level of the garment is below 3.5 X 10^7 ohms and compliant with ANSI/ESD STM2.3 standards. They contain a minimum of 9 percent carbon conductive nylon fibers arranged in a chain-link pattern to enhance conductivity and create a Faraday Cage effect around the wearer's torso and arms, preventing ESD damage.
